The Alchemist Club School & Studios is an educational platform that is designed to immerse learners in developing deep understanding of STEM concepts, ideas and fundamental principles by using a "Physical Approach" to computing in education. One of the main goals of the Alchemist Club School & Studios is addressing the crisis of minorities underrepresented in STEM.

We have developed an innovative learning platform to help students develop a working understand of bleeding edge learning technologies: Virtual Reality (VR) Augmented Reality (AR) Mixed Reality (MR) Internet of Things (IoT) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Machine Learning (ML) Deep Learning (DL).

Our first initiative focuses on using the Google Artificial Intelligence Yourself (AIY) Project Kits (Voice & Vision) to help learners develop a working understanding of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and the Internet of things by constructing learning artifacts that are used to assess STEM content mastery, critical thinking skills, and academic self-efficacy.

One of the main goals of the Alchemist Club School & Studios is to take advantage of the Google Classroom educational learning platform to develop a professional development portal for educators to learn how to construct the Google AIY projects and take it back to their classroom learning environment and enact the curriculum. We also focus on educational outreach using a global perspective. Since every educator has access to Google Classroom, we have opened the learning portal to educators all over the planet.

The Alchemist Club School & Studios have developed an accompanying education toolkit which allow K12 students to learn basic as well as advanced STEM concepts and share their learning artifacts using the student centered Google Classroom platform. Even if a school lack the technological and instructional resources, they can still participate in this project via the student learning portal on Google Classroom. This approach to teaching and learning is designed to prepare students for the digital world that is already here.

This program is currently enacted in the New York City Board of Education (NYCBOE) System. A hands-on inquiry-based approach is used to help learners develop robust understanding of advance STEM concepts: Machine, Learning, Deep Learning, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence by immersing them in creating physical learning artifacts using the Google AIY Voice and Vision Kits. They have developed a working understanding of cutting edge concepts by actually writing computer programs in Python, learn how to use Google Classroom, Google Cloud platform and create and code their own Voice Assistants, Conversational AI using a "Physical Computing" approach to develop a working understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP).
